The project site stands as a marginal area.

The alluvial territory of the Bolle di Magadino, shaped by the Ticino and Verzasca deltas, connects with the large anthropized plain of Magadino.
Industrial and residential settlements, together with the route of the A13, create a coexistence condition between natural landscape and infrastructure that, from the late 19th century has characterised this area.

The project is a piece inserted into this condition, a contribution to the need for balance between the built and natural environments.

The new volume, which fully houses the sports facilities and the auditorium, is located at the northern edge of the site, a site awaiting development. The building becomes an element of continuity in defining a public path between the residential areas to the north and the current middle school.

A new “stone”, left by the river, defines a void to the west: a large meadow between the urbanized environment and the Verzasca woods.
