An object, a complete, finite, and autonomous element, when it is struck by sunlight and made visible, revealed, speaks to us of something much broader, much farther away. It speaks to us of the universe, it speaks to us of the infinite.

This installation proposes a reworking of the condition of sunlight. It moves across, accompanies, and reveals the objects through a circular movement of the supporting surfaces, which, also circular in shape, compose a sort of universe, where objects appear and disappear within a system of light and shadow.

The objects are therefore repeated and extended in different perceptual moments, never static. Thus, the exhibition opens itself to the dimension of space and time: the dimension of life.

“This is the winter light at its purest. It carries no warmth or energy, having shed them and left them behind somewhere in the universe, or in the nearby cumulus. Its particles’ only ambition is to reach an object and make it, big or small, visible. It’s a private light, the light of Giorgione or Bellini, not the light of Tiepolo or Tintoretto. And the city lingers in it, savoring its touch, the caress of the infinity whence it came. An object, after all, is what makes infinity private.” Watermarks – Iosif Brodkij
